Gardening at Home with Kids

Cultivate your very own little green thumb with this hands-on virtual experience, complete with a useful and exciting gardening craft kit!

Did you know that children that grow their own food with their caregivers are more likely to eat what they grow? This online gardening workshop is a great way to kickstart their love for the outdoors and develop healthier eating habits, all while spending time together as a family.

Children, along with their caregivers, will learn how to garden from the planting of seeds to harvesting from a professional Horticulturist. Whether you're looking for things to do with kids at home, a unique birthday party idea for your little ones, or you're planning children's club activities, this online class is great for learning new skills and having fun.

We will plant the seeds together in the mini tabletop greenhouse (included) and discuss fun gardening topics like:

• What do plants need to grow.
• How does a greenhouse work.
• Which seeds you should pre-sprout vs which ones should be direct-seeded.
• How often should you water your plants.
• Do you have to feed your plants?
• What is a "Living Soil."
• Plus, many more helpful Gardening Tips!

You have a choice of two different kits. Both are ideal for getting children involved in gardening and come with a few different seeds you will learn how to plant and care for during the one-hour class. You will have a chance to select your seed choice at checkout.

• BPA free, reusable mini greenhouse (measures approx 9" x 6.75" x 7.25") and comes with a vented cover
• 12x soil media pellets
• Kelp meal
• Wooden Labels

• Workspace you don't mind getting a little dirty
• A small 16oz bowl of room temperature water
• Pen or pencil
• A window that gets lots of sun or a seasonal outdoor space that gets sun/part sun or a supplemental grow light
• An Outdoor space you can eventually transplant your plants to (can be in the ground, raised bed, or even planters or containers)
