What you'll do

If you're searching for your next dinner party dish or delicious new things to make at home, this flavour-filled online cooking class could be just what you need! Join Chef Jen as she teaches you how to make the flakiest homemade empanadas from scratch!

Thought to have originated in Spain, Empanadas are pastries traditionally filled with seafood, meat, cheese, vegetables or fruit. Today, the Empanada Festival is part of Galician culture!

You will learn to make two fillings and watch helpful demonstrations before filling your empanada disks and folding the edges into a braided seal known as repulgue. No empanada experience is complete without a delicious dipping sauce. So you will also learn Chef Jen's recipe for the perfect Chimichurri sauce!

On the menu:

Handmade vegetarian or beef picadillo empanadas.
Chimichurri dipping sauce.

Invite your friends and family to join you for this online class, so you can connect virtually and enjoy a fun experience cooking together. No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jen throughout the class and end the evening by tasting all of your hard work.

Please note:

Tickets are on a per-person basis.
You will need to make your dough before class begins so that it has at least one hour to rest. You will then have the option to either fry or bake your empanadas.

Please note: Public dates for this class require a minimum number of guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

Chef Jen is a Mom of two wonderful girls, as well as a Community Education Culinary Instructor and former Specialty Bakeshop owner. She helps make everyday cooking simple, flavorful, and with no artificial ingredients. She loves to use fresh herbs and spices to naturally enhance the flavor of food. Aside from cooking savory foods, she is also passionate about baking and decorating cakes. Chef Jen loves to teach kids classes! When she isn't cooking or baking, Chef Jen loves to attend yoga classes.
