What you'll do
Starting a garden from seeds is very rewarding. There are not many things that bring you back to childhood when you harvest plants and vegetables from your garden and say "Yeah, I grew it from seed!" Such a tiny seed can be so much fun!
In this class, a professional Horticulturist from Garden Outside The Box will show you how to be successful in growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed.
I will cover:
- How to read a seed packet
- Seed classification
- Pre-sprouting vs direct
- Do's and don'ts of seeding
- Growing containers
- Soil mixes
- Seed starting tools: heat mats, grow lights
- Thinning
- Organic fertilizers: ratios
- Transplanting: raised beds and containers or in-ground
