What you'll do
Learn how to make a handmade fascinator that are chic enough for the Kentucky Derby in this in person hat-making class. If you're attending a wedding or racing party, a stunning fascinator is just what you need to complete your look. In this hat-making workshop, you will learn how to make your own fascinator and customize it to complement your outfit!
Your class is led by a knowledgeable instructor in person. All materials will be included and the class is taught in a Union Square, NYC location. You will start by learning how to create a fascinator base in a shape using sinamay (straw fabric). Next, your instructor Lisa will walk you through how to make the correct shape to suit your face. You will also get to create beautiful trims out of fabric, feathers, and horsehair. Lisa will show you every step of how to make your flowers, how to create depth with color and sculpting and make other trims. Finally, you will learn how to assemble your fascinator.
This is the perfect activity for a bachelorette party, where you can create your bridesmaid looks before the big day. Or if you're looking for unique gifts for mom or a loved one, treat them to an afternoon of creativity in this fun virtual workshop. By the end of class, you'll be ready for the races with an original fascinator to wear with confidence and pride.
