Discover how to use a potter's wheel and learn the ancient skill of turning clay into ceramic art during this beginner-friendly demonstration in NYC. You will not create a piece to take home, this is an experience where you'll get to practice your skills and enjoy a day playing with clay.
This is the most affordable pottery class in NYC because all materials are recycled, and no firing is done so we pass the savings onto you! No clay works or pottery are taken home; this class is for the experience of throwing on the potter's wheel.
This class begins with a basic wheel demonstration. You will learn the basic steps of throwing a cup or bowl on the potter's wheel. Next, you will get your hands dirty and form work yourself. This workshop is great for anyone. Feel free to take pictures of your works for social media content creators, to remember your pieces forever as they will be recycled at the end of class.
All pieces made during this class will be recycled as this is an experience-only class. We have other classes at different price points on this platform which allow you to keep your work. The last ten minutes of class are reserved for a mandatory clean-up.
Please note: This is a pottery experience, no works are kept or fired in this class.
