Blue Barn City Farm

Blue Barn City Farm has 1/4 acre of usable outdoor space situated within the historic neighborhood of Melody Acres in Tarzana, Ca. The gardens use native and drought tolerant plants including white sage and mesquite trees. Drawing on both Joshua Tree and Big Sur as major influences, the layout is both playful and mystical. A dry creekbed with a wooden bridge welcomes you into the space as it meanders past a sail shade covered 20' x 20' yoga lawn with a small stage to your right and an in-ground 12' diameter trampoline on your left. A 20' x 20' hardwood deck encircles a 100 year old pomegranate tree with gabion wall seating on two sides while a circular fire pit area with benches sits at the mouth of an enchanted vine covered tunnel. There is an additional 50' x 40' of open meadow space beside a giant Eucalyptus which can be tented. Poolside sits a 15' x 20' pergola which houses the art studio with an extra large project table with room for 8 adults or 12 children. Primarily used as a ceramics workshop there are 3 pottery wheels. The restroom is accessible from the poolside deck. All outdoor spaces are available for daytime and evening use.
