Jewelry and clothing designer Alzerina Gomes is best known for her creative designs utilizing Austrian Crystals. Born and raised in the remote village of Portalzinho Garca on the island of San Antao, Cape Verde, Alzerina received her first sewing lessons from her mom at the age of four, waking up her life-long passion for creating beauty. Alzerina left Cape Verde for Paris in the early 1990 where she learned the craft of jewelry making while living in Paris. Alzerina fell in love with the Swarovski brand and it was at this time that the idea of becoming a jewelry designer blossomed. In 1998, Alzerina left Paris for New York City, in 2005 she launched her own eponymous company, Alzerina Jewelry, which has grown to have a presence in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Cape Verde.

We spent the most amazing afternoon making necklaces. I live in the upper west side of Manhattan and wanted to spend a special day when my granddaughter visited from out of town. I was hesitant about going to an apt in Brooklyn. Seemed a bit sketchy but she got top reviews so I called and felt reassured and went.
I am SO glad that I did. A spectacular experience with a very special teacher. And sooo many beads.
Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Alzerina is a knowledgeable, warm, patient teacher with a nice sense of humor. She welcomed us into her apartment and offered us water. She provided lovely materials and really helped us bring our own designs to life. We made wire rings.

The class was small and personalized. We had a lot of options to choose from in terms of both stones and beads to use and Alzerina was able to make our visions come to life!

OMG I had the the best time today. I made a bracelet and earrings. My teacher was so patient and knowledgeable with showing from start to finish how to make jewelry. She supplied everything and let me pick what colors and style I wanted to make.
The price for the class and projects are well worth it. I would definitely recommend everyone to arrange to have a class and start your jewelry making a reality. I left the class with New techniques and some tricks on how to work with the different materials. She made my day.
