What you'll do
Add some personality to your accessories and learn how to make handmade jewelry in a jewelry class in NYC. By the end of the class, you will have crafted a unique piece of jewelry that is one-of-a-kind and exclusively yours.
You are free to choose what to create! You can learn how to create necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and even anklets! You are free to choose from the variety of materials that I offer.
You'll have access to various materials such as beads, wire, findings and more! Your instructor will teach you how to assemble all the materials so you can walk out wearing your piece proudly.
What you'll learn
- Basic knowledge of jewelry making process
- Knowledge of different types of clasps and findings
- Familiarity with jewelry-making tools and their uses;
- Understanding basic techniques like wire wrapping and bead stringing
- How to create basic jewelry designs and how to modify them
- Knowledge of jewelry care and maintenance
Jewelry making is a fun and rewarding hobby that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a great way to express your creativity and to relax and de-stress. Learning a new skill is also good for your mental wellbeing, and jewelry making is a relatively easy skill to learn.

This is beginner-friendly class.
What you'll get
Access to all materials: various types of beads, wires, tools, clasps (such as lobster, toggle), jump rings, headpins and eye pins and findings. Please note: we provide all the basic materials and tools with no extra cost. If you want to work on semi-precious stones, you have to bring your own.

Jewelry and clothing designer Alzerina Gomes is best known for her creative designs utilizing Austrian Crystals. Born and raised in the remote village of Portalzinho Garca on the island of San Antao, Cape Verde, Alzerina received her first sewing lessons from her mom at the age of four, waking up her life-long passion for creating beauty. Alzerina left Cape Verde for Paris in the early 1990 where she learned the craft of jewelry making while living in Paris. Alzerina fell in love with the Swarovski brand and it was at this time that the idea of becoming a jewelry designer blossomed. In 1998,  Alzerina left Paris for New York City, in 2005 she launched her own eponymous company, Alzerina Jewelry, which has grown to have a presence in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Cape Verde.
