Learn the foundations of composition in this drawing course for young artists.

4 x 2 hours Class size 1 to 25     label $140

If your kid’s heroes are less the Marvel variety and more like Frida Kahlo, these fun art workshops in Los Angeles are the perfect way to learn the basics of drawing and painting.

This series of art classes for kids will help middle school and high school students build on drawing fundamentals and painting techniques. The four-week course takes place at Valley Art Workshop, an art school in Woodland Hills.

Kids will have the chance to try everything from still life drawing, landscapes, and portraiture so there are a lot of exciting art activities to dive into during each class. The workshop will be run by a local artist who is passionate about teaching young artists how to grow creatively and develop their unique creative voices.

Kids will also learn painting and ink drawing to build confidence in these mediums. The only materials needed are a sketchbook, pencils, and their unlimited imaginations.

If your burgeoning artist can’t get enough of the lessons and experimentation covered in class, there’s the option to do some creative homework. This class is all about expanding knowledge, making friends, and being free to create in a supportive community.

At the end of the course, young artists will learn art techniques that set them up for a lifetime of creative pursuits.
