What you'll do
Ready to create custom cards to delight all of your friends or want to learn a creative new hobby? Learn block printing in this workshop in Seattle!
In this block printing class, you will learn how to carve a block and then print with inks to create cards and frameable prints! In two hours, you will learn to design and carve a printing block, and then discover the magic of block printing. Create a frameable print and loads of notecards that could be used as gifts, thank-you notes, and more.
This is a beginner friendly printmaking class, where you're instructor will teach you how to block print. The best part is that you can put your own creative spin or personal style on your creation by choosing your own design to carve! So whether you want monogrammed cards or a funky pattern, it's up to you!
Take home your block for more printing at home too! We'll be carving on a "Softkut" rubber printing block, which is much easier to carve than wood or linoleum, while still using sharp tools. This class is great for adults and kids over age seven. If you have a younger child who would like to attend, please join them!
Knowledge required
No experience is necessary. Sharp tools will be used, so parent supervision is recommended for younger children.
What you'll get
All supplies needed for the art project will be provided. Guests will take home their printing block plus a set of notecards and a frameable print.
