Support your child's growing creativity with this hands-on ceramics class in Los Angeles! During this workshop, your child will be guided through the process of making unique ceramic pieces.
These classes allow kids to cut, weigh, smoosh, whack, pinch, spin, mold, smooth, and build things using clay. There is no prior experience necessary for your child to participate in this workshop. They will learn how to shape the clay while enhancing their fine motor skills and expressing their unique ideas.
Attending more than 1 class is strongly encouraged so that your child may feel the accomplishment of finishing their pieces. The first class they will make new work out of wet clay. The second class they will be able to decorate their dried and fired "bisque" work with ceramic glazes in the colors they choose. There are also pre-fired tiles to decorate for an added fee of $5 per tile.
Pouring candles and potting succulents in the finished pieces are also an option for an extra fee per piece: $10 per candle, $10 per succulent, $15 per silicone sippy lid - the children can choose these options with parental guidance at the end of their 2nd class.

Show mapWelcome to Blue Barn City Farm in Tarzana, California where community, art, wellness and farm animals come together to play, learn, create and heal. Home to the Roché family, Avian Recording Company, Sisu Studio, Bruno the burro, goats, turkeys, chickens and giant rabbits, we host ceramics workshops, yoga classes, sound baths and special events for all ages. Co-founder, Zoë Roché fell in love with ceramics in high school and yoga in her 20's. She now has a spacious outdoor ceramics studio with a large table, a kiln and a few wheels so that she may support students of all ages and abilities.
Zoë also welcomes Sound Yoga guides Erin and Matt Tice and Yoga teacher Brandi Holland to facilitate classes on the Blue Barn City Farm lawn.
