Culture Chauraha

Our Studio "Culture Chauraha" was founded by a mother-daughter duo, Smriti Sangal & Ritu Sangal, both practicing Visual Artists & Art Educators with experience spanning collectively over 35 years. The studio was founded in New Delhi, India in 2015.

We believe art has a huge role in shaping a culture of inclusivity, positivity, confidence, & creativity. The word “Chauraha” is a Hindi word inspired by a “village Choupal” or the crossroads of a town, an area regularly used as a meeting spot for discussions, important announcements, and a place where everyone is welcome.

In April, 2023, the daughter, Smriti Sangal, moved to the USA with the hopes of expanding the activities & ideas of the studio to a larger audience. The studio continues to hold online art classes and partner with organizations for creative art experiences in India and now taking small steps in the States.

The studio has experience teaching over 40 different art mediums ranging between painting, sculpture, crafts, textiles, etc to kids as well as adults.
