Learn drawing basics and impress your friends with the ability to draw a three-dimensional object with this online drawing course!

This is a great introductory to drawing for ages 6 and up! It's recommended that if you're signing your child up, they should be able to write. Children under 10 will need a guardian present who can be there for free. The guardian is also welcome to learn from the session.

In this short drawing course, you will learn how to draw three-dimensional objects, attach a light source, and shade accordingly. The lesson will start with drawing a circle and transforming it into a sphere with shading. We will progress into more complex shapes after grasping the basics. The purpose of this first lesson is to understand how basic shapes sit in a blank space. There will be four in total; the final goal of the course will be to learn how to draw and shade a realistic hand.

What you'll learn

  • Lesson 1: Shading in 3D
  • Lesson 2: Object Placement
  • Lesson 3: Creating Complex Compositions
  • Lesson 4: Drawing the Hand

Sessions will be held weekly, Sat-Sun at 2pm on Zoom! On Saturdays, I'll go over lessons 1 and 2, and on Sundays, 3 and 4!

After each lesson, you are expected to keep all of your work from each session to review your progress. If you want to learn how to draw, this educational class will set you up with the skills for your new hobby!

Your teacher

I'm passionate for the general arts. Since graduating Skidmore College, I've become proficient in painting, drawing, printmaking, fiber arts and a little bit of metals, woodworking, and ceramics. I try to do a little bit of art in my everyday life whether it's a little journal blurb or a whole new oil painting. I feel I'm qualified to teach art because all my past experiences in work has been teaching art. I'm very comfortable with people of all ages, and I feel knowledgeable and organized to lead. I'm both a passionate learner and teacher in the arts.
