What you'll do
If you're looking for beginner-friendly sewing projects, this class is the fun and creative sewing lesson for you! In this workshop in Seattle, you will learn to easily customize the length of your zipper, install your own zipper stop tabs in a contrasting fabric, add interfacing, and construct a lined bag that will stand up on its own.
This hands-on class will teach you how to install a zipper in a lined fabric bag with clean finished seams. So you can leave with a fancy new skill and bag! This class is perfect for beginners to learn basic sewing skills or for sewing enthusiasts to meet new people and brush up on their techniques.
Kits will be provided and you are welcome to choose from the styles of fabrics pictured. Make a zippered bag to hold whatever you want, makeup, marbles, matchbox cars, or candy!
If you will be bringing your own sewing machine, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

Our current COVID protocol is that anyone attending an event can email us to let us know they prefer that people wear masks up to 72 hours before the event begins. Your request is anonymous to all the other participants. Attendees will receive an email before the class to let them know if we will be checking vaccination records and requiring masks to be worn.

Monster is a unique shop dedicated to supporting independent artists. Located in Ballard at 1716 NW Market Street. We feature a different artist on the second Saturday of each month during the Ballard Art Walk.
Monster is more than just a retail shop. We also have a dedicated classroom space where we host art and craft classes. Join us for our monthly craft social and meet other creative folks.
