Not only is this a delicious recipe, but it will also help reduce food waste and save money! You can assemble just about anything into fried rice, and you don’t even need Asian condiments or seasonings.
Your online chef will teach you how to pull random odds and ends from your fridge and combine them with rice, assorted spices, and condiments to create the most satisfying skillet of good eats that everyone will devour.
You'll learn how to select and pair ingredients, cook the perfect pot of rice, and your chef's signature technique for extra crispy highly flavorful fried rice. Everyone in class will finish with a unique fried rice recipe, so make sure you share your secrets to inspire future delicious dishes!
What we'll use:
  • rice
  • water
  • salt
  • any vegetables or scraps (onions, carrots, celery, turnips, shallots, mushroom stems, broccoli stems, kale stems, etc.)
  • aromatics (onions, scallions, ginger, garlic, etc.)
  • oil (canola, sesame, grapeseed, olive)
  • spices (e.g. peppercorns, ginger root, lemongrass, coriander seeds, bay leaf)
  • large skillet
  • small pot with a tightly fitting lid
  • strainer
  • cutting board and knife

No prior knowledge or skills are required! Your entire household can join for the price of one ticket.
What to bring
This is a virtual, hands-on class with very little preparation required.
Your teacher will provide a detailed list of ingredients, materials, and prep instructions one week before the class.
No special tools or equipment required. We teach you how to substitute with confidence.
