What you'll do

Learn needle felting at home if you're looking for cozy DIY projects to help you relax or add some creativity to your day. In this online needle-felting workshop you will learn how to make needle-felted mushrooms! With a DIY kit shipped to you, you'll be able to create these adorable needle-felted mushrooms with ease!

Using dyed wool and the specially barbed felting needle, you’ll learn to make super sweet wool mushrooms. Take your creativity even further and learn to add polka dots and colorfades with the wool and help from your expert instructor.

In this virtual class, you'll learn all about needle felting including, what types of fibers work best, selecting appropriate felting needles for your projects, and the next steps to continue your felting adventure after the class ends.

Warning: felting is a super fun and highly addictive activity. Get ready for your new favorite crafting obsession!

With your needle felting kit, you can make 2-3 mushrooms. We'll have time to make the first one in class together. Your mushroom can become an ornament with the needle and thread provided (but not required).

6" x 6" magic foam pad
Two felting needles (You can repeatedly reuse the foam pad and needles!)

Since 2004, I have taught about 85 handcraft classes a year. I love teaching people felting, and not just because the world needs more wool gnomes.

My felting classes provide me with a way to put you in touch with your playful, generous self. As Fred Moten says: "The only way to protect joy is by practicing it."

I have taught felting workshops at colleges, art studios, and fiber festivals all over the world—from a small village in the mountains of Japan to New York City.

As an artist I also work in felt - I'm best known for my highly detailed grocery store food products rendered in felt.

PenFelt Studio exists to create crafting bliss through felting projects - in-person, online, and through the kits available on my website.
