What you'll do

If you're looking for relaxing new hobbies or easy craft ideas, try needle felting! In this online needle felting workshop, you will learn to make needle-felted strawberries! With a DIY kit shipped to you, you'll be able to create a basket of sweet strawberries out of wool.

Using just dyed wool and the specially barbed felting needle, you’ll learn to make summer's best fruit! This project is the perfect introduction to needle felting for first-timers or hesitant crafters.

You'll learn all about needle felting including, what types of fibers work best, selecting appropriate felting needles for your projects, and the next steps to continue your felting adventure after the class ends.

With your needle felting kit, you can make 4-6 strawberries. We'll have time to make the first couple together in class. Your instructor will teach you all the skills to finish your project on your own.

Since 2004, I have taught about 85 handcraft classes a year. I love teaching people felting, and not just because the world needs more wool gnomes.

My felting classes provide me with a way to put you in touch with your playful, generous self. As Fred Moten says: "The only way to protect joy is by practicing it."

I have taught felting workshops at colleges, art studios, and fiber festivals all over the world—from a small village in the mountains of Japan to New York City.

As an artist I also work in felt - I'm best known for my highly detailed grocery store food products rendered in felt.

PenFelt Studio exists to create crafting bliss through felting projects - in-person, online, and through the kits available on my website.
