I am Roman, a professional artist and educator based in Los Angeles. Classical art and traditional animation have captivated me from an early age which determined my career choice as an artist. The more I drew, the more passionate I became about the arts. Therefore, this drive for art led me to get a master’s degree in illustration at the Academy of Art University.

Everything I do is inspired by the natural world that surrounds us: be it an organic shape such as a tree, a plant, or a geometric shape of a building. I encourage my students to observe the world around them every day with a keen eye to strengthen their craft. The more they do it, the quicker they will master the essential skills.

During the years of instructing students in sculpture, painting, and drawing, my emphasis has been on foundational skills and imagination. Learning to draw requires perseverance, passion, and dedication. My students develop their knowledge, abilities, and creativity as they draw while looking for their own unique style. Although developing a style takes time, I still advise my pupils to practice sketching and imitate different artists of their choosing to learn what made their work distinctive, fascinating, and inspirational.
