Risograph Printing Class: Play and Print

Learn how to make risograph prints in this printmaking class in Seattle!

2.5 hours Class size 5 to 10     label $100

Add some color and creativity to your afternoon with a risograph printmaking class in Seattle! Risograph is a machine that combines the vibrant colors of screen printing with the ease of a Xerox printer.

This class will explore how to design a two-color, 8 ½ x 11-inch risograph print. Your instructor will briefly talk you through the history and unique artistic uses of Risograph printing after which you will learn how the machine functions and how best to design your artwork onto two separate pages for your two-color print.

You will use art supplies and collage clippings to design your artwork. Choose from our four colors, and our instructor will run your design through the Risograph machine for you. You will leave with 10 copies of your design for yourself, and enough copies to share with the other members of your class so everyone leaves with a mini Riso collection at the end.

This art class in Seattle is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow creatives, learn a new art form, and create handmade art ready to share or inspire future risograph projects!

Reclaim Clay Collective (RECC) is the first POC, queer, women-owned art studio located in the thriving cultural heart of Seattle’s Chinatown International district. Founders Siera Matsuo and Luanne Wilson left their biology careers to pursue pottery, and made it their mission to nurture an intentional artistic community that helps make art accessible to underserved communities. We prioritize creating a safe space for our QT and BIPOC community and will not tolerate hate in our space.

RECC offers short-term classes designed to help you explore a new creative hobby or long term interest. As art enthusiasts ourselves, we host classes on various mixed media interests to help further expand your art practice and intrigue. We offer group classes and workshops on the potter’s wheel, handbuilding, Risography printmaking, and more.

In addition to classes and workshops, our studio offers membership access for those who want to continue their creative journey and expand their self-exploration.

We welcome you to join our community!
