3 hours - 4 hours Class size 1 to 4     label $260

If you're interested in creating gorgeous custom jewelry to show off your style, you've come to the right place. In this jewelry-making class in Brooklyn, you will learn how to create handmade jewelry through the process of water casting.

Water Casting is the art of melting metal to its molten form and then pouring it into water. This shocks the metal, creating spontaneous forms and unusual shapes. In this workshop, we learn how to recycle metal, create unique alloys, pour metal into different liquids and over forms, and fabricate a jewelry piece out of a water casting. Your old silver and gold jewelry and scraps can be cast into new and wondrous forms. The water cast pieces can be made into earrings, pendants, or a ring during the workshop.

While this jewelry workshop might sound complex, it is perfect for beginner jewelry makers! You'll have expert guidance through the entire process. By the end of class, you'll have a truly unique piece to be proud of! This class is perfect for those looking for an interactive experience and creative outlet! If you're looking for unique gift ideas or fun things to do in Brooklyn, you'll want to try this hands-on jewelry-making workshop for a memorable experience and a stunning handmade takeaway.

Liloveve is a boutique jewelry studio located in the vibrant and artistic neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We offer jewelry classes and workshops that explore the inherent creativity of our individual students as well as technical aspects of the craft. We function as a bridge between the art of jewelry making and the production aspects of the jewelry industry – reviving ancient hand crafting skills as well as understanding modern tools and techniques. Jewelry making is an antique art, having existed since the cave era. It has flourished throughout history up to our current day. We travel that rich lineage through a series of classes that delve into the organic handmade process, from introductory level courses up to professional model making and fine jewelry design.

The teacher was extremely patient, explained things well and taught us about some of the intricacies of her craft. It piqued our interest in learning more and we also left with some beautiful pieces we made during this workshop.

Who doesn’t like playing with hot, molten metal?! It was a fun class and the instructor was very patient and clear with her directions. Would recommend.

This was such a fun and unique class! My sisters and I took it as a Christmas gift, and we were the only ones in the class. The instructor was super knowledgeable, and very balanced in helping us know exactly what to do and how to stay safe when working with the fire and chemicals necessary to melt metal, but also giving us the freedom to experiment and let our creativity flow!
