Thought to have originated in Spain, Empanadas are pastries traditionally filled with seafood, meat, cheese, vegetables or fruit. Today, the Empanada Festival is part of Galician culture!
You will learn to make two fillings and watch helpful demonstrations before filling your empanada disks and folding the edges into a braided seal known as repulgue. No empanada experience is complete without a delicious dipping sauce. So you will also learn Chef Jen's recipe for the perfect Chimichurri sauce!
On the menu:
- Handmade vegetarian or beef picadillo empanadas.
- Chimichurri dipping sauce.
Invite your friends and family to join you for this online class, so you can connect virtually and enjoy a fun experience cooking together. No experience is required! You'll have the opportunity to interact with Chef Jen throughout the class and end the evening by tasting all of your hard work.
- Tickets are on a per-person basis.
- You will need to make your dough before class begins so that it has at least one hour to rest. You will then have the option to either fry or bake your empanadas.
Public dates for this class require a minimum number of guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class;
in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.
You will receive an email with the equipment and ingredients list to bring before your class. Please make sure you have everything measured out and ready as described so that you can follow along with your chef in real-time!
