Hosted by talented teacher Jerry, a resident NYC master chef with a proud Puerto Rican heritage, this workshop will help you gain a deeper understanding of the history of Puerto Rican culture and cuisine before diving into a delicious homemade meal.

You'll receive plenty of step-by-step support as you create two traditional Puerto Rican dishes, mofongo and shrimp empanadas, discovering helpful kitchen tips and watching demonstrations of knife skills along the way!

Both dishes can easily be adapted to vegetarian-friendly versions. And, if you prefer a sweeter treat to go along with your mofongo, you can replace your empanada filling with Nutella, guava paste, baked apples, or whatever else you have at home!

Whether you're looking for indoor activities to try with your friends and family or you need a virtual experience to perk up the office, this class is a great chance to connect and enjoy a fun evening of creating something delicious and comforting together from scratch.

Chef Jerry has been cooking professionally for over fifteen years. He has worked in many restaurants and amassed a plethora of knowledge in different types of cuisines. His primary specialty has been in Spanish and Italian cooking. However for the past six years, his focus has been on creating healthy and dietary tolerant cooking including Keto, low carb and vegetarian cooking. Chef Jerry was also inspired to begin his own personal journey to a healthier lifestyle, in which to date he has lost over eighty pounds! He now wishes to share his experiences and inspire others to follow a healthy lifestyle as he himself has been inspired to make better life choices and enjoys cooking new dishes!
