What you'll do
Come learn the skills to create your own custom macrame plant hanger, in this beginners macrame workshop in Oakland!
During this workshop, instructor Antonia will teach you the skills to create a custom-sized, beautiful macrame plant hanger. You will learn to tie three different macrame knots (square, spiral and gathering) and learn how to integrate a plant pot to hang successfully. You are encouraged to bring your own pot to customize your macrame plant hanger. This will ensure a perfect fit so your plant looks its best!
This workshop does not require previous knowledge about macrame--if you are looking for inspiration and the skills to make personalized gifts for family and friends, or if you want to engage in a relaxing hobby that brings you joy, this class is for you!
You will leave with one macrame hanger that will include a wooden ring and optional wooden beads. You will also obtain the skills to make future macrame hangers, so you can elevate all of your plants.
This macrame class is great for team building workshops, bachelorette party activities and more! Relax and learn a DIY project with your friends or colleagues!

Your teacher
Antonia is a Chilean interdisciplinary artist. She focuses her work on story telling and the healing nature of art. Antonia was born in Santiago, Chile and immigrated with her family to Mobile, Alabama at the age of two. She moved back to the motherland as a teenager and lived in Vina del Mar, Chile until she graduated as a designer. From 2017-2021, she worked as a design educator in Providence, Rhode Island throughout middle schools and high schools from the Providence Public School District. She continued her work as an educator in Oakland, California, until May of 2023.
Antonia connects her work to healing due to the value that it has brought into her life. She sees exploring mediums and dedicating time into her crafts as a spaces where curiosity and play are welcome. She currently shares her knowledge with others through workshops, throughout the Bay Area as well as virtually.
