Your guide is Marla Bosworth, who is a long-time teacher and master chandler - that's another way of saying candle maker! She will take you through each step as you learn how to make customized candles using natural waxes with your preferred scents and colors.

You will learn how to make one soy candle and one coconut wax candle in glass jars that perfectly encapsulate the relaxing vibes that make a handmade candle special.

Even if you only want to learn DIY candle making for fun, you will enjoy this comprehensive class that's just as good for beginners as it is for anyone with a bit of experience.

In addition to natural cosmetics online training, Marla teaches in New York City. Marla is well-known in the indie beauty community for sharing her knowledge of natural cosmetic and soap formulation along with her extensive background in entrepreneurship. She teaches experiential workshops that engage and empower students with knowledge in natural skincare formulation. Marla's Natural Wax Candle Making Class at Little Shop of Candles was amazing. My husband and I attended this class as part of our "date night" before dinner. Prior to the class, Marla emailed us reading material in preparation for the class. This included steps necessary to make soy and coconut candles, a list of websites to purchase supplies, etc. The venue was a cute arts and crafts shop on Amsterdam. When we arrived there was another class ending at the front. The class was held towards the back of the shop. Marla and her assistant, Kay greeted us with friendly smiles. As the class commenced, Marla and Kay were very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. Marla offered her opinions, tips and tricks. Various scents and colors were made availability and neatly placed on the tables. Each participant made two candles during the evening: one soy and one coconut candle. The class lasted a little over 2.5 hours. However, it was well worth it and very engaging.
