Welcome to Blue Barn City Farm in Tarzana, California where community, art, wellness and farm animals come together to play, learn, create and heal. Home to the Roché family, Avian Recording Company, Sisu Studio, Bruno the burro, goats, turkeys, chickens and giant rabbits, we host ceramics workshops, yoga classes, sound baths and special events for all ages. Co-founder, Zoë Roché fell in love with ceramics in high school and yoga in her 20's. She now has a spacious outdoor ceramics studio with a large table, a kiln and a few wheels so that she may support students of all ages and abilities.
Zoë also welcomes Sound Yoga guides Erin and Matt Tice and Yoga teacher Brandi Holland to facilitate classes on the Blue Barn City Farm lawn.

Went here for a fun date night, to try and do something more active and interesting than typical dates in the city. Found the setting to be really intimate, small group of folks allowed the instructor to work with us individually and help us with our ideas and answer all of our questions. This was a great experience and recommend to anyone who is interested in having a memorable evening.

I recently attended a pottery workshop class and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The Teacher was not only skilled at pottery but also an excellent teacher. Her patience, clear instructions, and enthusiasm made learning a joy. I not only learned a lot but also had a blast doing so. The class was worth every penny, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore their creativity through pottery.

She really took the time to walk us through the process and provided lots of material to work with. My boyfriend brought me to this class as a Christmas gift, and we absolutely loved it :) the workshop was outdoors on the host’s patio. She had heat lamps running so it didn’t get too cold, and she provided aprons to protect our clothes. The class was very laid back, we were able to play around with the clay and create whatever spoke to us, with lots of great tips and help from the host when we needed her. It was a lovely experience, my boyfriend and I already want to come back for her open studio option :)

Zoe was an absolutely great instructor and she emphasized the importance of having fun instead of focusing on making our creations perfect. I loved seeing all her animals and how beautiful the property was, her and her husband gave us a mini tour and their personalities are so warm and inviting. This was definitely worth the money and I would gladly take more workshops in the future at blue barn city farm.

Every class we've attended at Blue Barn City Farm has been nothing short of magic! Whether it's the kids' ceramics classes or the adult yoga/sound bath we always leave with our cups full and our hearts refreshed. Set in a stunning native sage garden, Zoe's warmth and openness can be felt by all as she leads classes fit for a range of skill levels. You can expect each artist to leave having produced work completely unique to themselves - no cookie-cutter reproductions of the same piece by every student here! Looking forward to our next chance to visit this little bit of paradise.

This was an excellent date nite option! Zoë welcomed us onto her beautiful property and wonderfully facilitated our ceramic creativity. She was attentive, thoughtful, and quite sweet. Zoë was clear in her instruction such that ceramic newbies could find success in the process. She finished the class off with a relaxing sound bath, which was lovely. I’d love to visit her property in the daytime because it is gorgeous!

This is LA ‘s greatest hidden gem for a one of a kind date experience surrounded by nature in an absolute city get away. The teacher was amazing. So caring. Made sure we tried to reach our goal mug/plate/ dish designs. The studio is at her home, which made the class feel so welcoming and comfortable. Would definitely take this class again!
