Cooking Class: Handmade Pasta with Local Ingredients

Learn pasta making with seasonal and local ingredients sourced from around San Francisco!

3 hours Class size 1 to 6     label $145

Looking for cute date night ideas in San Francisco, or interested in upskilling in the kitchen? This cooking class is your chance to learn all about the how-to's and the history of making pasta from scratch.

Taking inspiration from training and cooking in Italy, your instructor Eddie will show you how to prepare the perfect homemade pasta with your hands, the freshest local ingredients, and love.

Chef Eddie's inspiration comes from watching his grandma make hand-cut noodles in childhood, and this cooking class helps keep alive a tradition that is slowly disappearing in many types of noodle-based cuisine, from Chinese to Italian.

In this class, you will learn how to cook a homemade tomato sauce, create spaghetti from scratch, and make pork meatballs. For appetizers, you'll learn to make a vegetarian ravioli in a sage butter sauce. You will be in a food coma at the end of the experience!

This pasta making class in San Francisco also makes for romantic date night ideas, engaging birthday parties, and fun team building activities!

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 3 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly.

What you'll get
Vegetarian ravioli in sage butter sauce as an appetizer followed by homemade red sauce, pasta, and meatballs using pork from a Bay Area farmer. A light dessert will also be included.

What to bring
Just yourselves! Wear something that you are comfortable getting flour on. There will be an opportunity to purchase Tuscan wines from my last trip to Italy, or feel free to BYOB enjoy while cooking and eating! I recommend a bubbly for while we make pasta, and a light red for the main.

Whenever I sat in my mom's kitchen growing up, she’d make dumplings while sharing memories of her own mom and grandma. I soon realized my generation was missing something important: the handmade techniques and traditions passed down through the ages. She went on to open a Chinese restaurant with my dad, where I was raised and where I learned how to make dishes featured in this class!

I'm passionate about food, cooking, and experiences, and can't wait to share with you. I’ve trained at French and Italian cooking schools, as well as locally with Chef Olivia Wu, who I’ve partnered with to teach her “Ultimate Umami” course in Half Moon Bay.
