What you'll do
Illustrate your imagination in this watercolor painting class in Oakland! In this workshop, local artist, illustrator, and fantasy writer Max Silver will take you through the basics of watercolor painting to create unique art!
This class is beginner friendly and comes with all of the supplies you will need for your art projects! You will learn how to make a wash, how to add salt for an enhancing effect, and how to add details with fine-tipped brushes. You will learn to paint on premium watercolor paper with both watercolor paint and gouache.
If you're looking for a relaxing hobby or a fun indoor activity to do with friends or colleagues, watercolor painting is a fantastic medium to explore. Let your creativity take the lead and surprise yourself with the wonderful creations you can make in just one lesson!
About the facilitator:
Max Silver is a San Francisco artist and teacher. Having graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Art, Max teaches different mediums (acrylic, oil, landscapes, portraits, abstract art, surrealism, short-film animation, and storytelling through art). However, his favorite area of expertise is watercolor painting. Max paints mostly in cartoon-style illustrations, however, he teaches a variety of techniques that will allow you to create beautiful paintings in your own preferred style!
Knowledge required
This class is extremely beginner-friendly. No experience with watercolors is required!
