DIY Altered Art Bottle Necklaces

Learn how to create DIY necklaces with small glass bottles in this online class.

3 hours label $34

If you love a good conversation piece when it comes to jewelry, this crafts class will teach you how to create uniquely handmade necklaces using small bottles and other decorative elements.

In this prerecorded online class, you will learn how to recycle small glass vessels, like perfume bottles and glass vials, and create Altered Art Bottle pendants to wear on chains or use as ornaments.

Your guide is Robin Dudley Howes, an experienced teacher who will show you all her techniques for making your own creations. If you've been crafting for a while and have left over fabric, beads, and chains from other projects this is a great use for these odd bits.

You'll make two versions of this bottle necklace, one using a crown as a bottle topper and the other using a doll's head. This project has a "found objects" feel to it and is a fun arts and crafts project to do at home.

If you know a little bit about jewelry-making some of the lessons will be familiar but you will feel at ease taking this class even if you are a complete beginner. You can go at your own pace and you'll have access to an online forum that allows you to ask questions and see examples of other students' creations.

By the end of your online session, you'll have cool DIY jewelry to wear or give as gifts.

What's covered in your prerecorded class:

  • Jewelry design basics
  • Beeswax application
  • Wire application for appendages
  • How to apply difficult findings
  • Creative ways to attach the toppers
  • How to paint a doll face and attach arms
  • Where to source supplies

Hi I'm Robin Dudley Howes aka The Artsy Bohemian. Welcome to my Bohemian happy place! I have been an educator for over 2 decades, guiding individuals to loosen up their creativity and think outside of the box, mostly with unconventional styles of art. I've taught 1000's of students at hundreds of venues in various backgrounds with a goal of not only finishing a project but teaching individuals HOW to be creative.

Since 1997 I have been published dozens of times in well-known magazines (landing the cover of 1) and 3 books. I've been asked to speak about creativity via speaking engagements and podcasts, culminating in a growing social media platform and loyal following. To say I am PASSIONATE about spreading the magic of creativity would be an understatement. I live, eat and breathe creativity EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

I absolutely love sharing my knowledge, whether it be at cozy home gatherings, large National art retreats or online. It's what I love to do and I'm so grateful to my loyal following and a platform to spread my love of creativity.
