The cavatelli making class took place in a airy lounge of the Hyatt hotel. It was a nice space to work in. The chef and instructor was engaging and shared context for our class in addition to each step required to succeed. For a novice, the steps were easy to follow. The chef used fresh produce and demonstrated how to make a simple sauce (pasado) tasty with garlic, tomato, red pepper, parmigiano and parsley. After we made our cavatelli, the chef cooked our pasta in the sauce al dente prior to serving. Overall, it was a good and tasty experience.

Lou provided a demo with great tips and techniques for successfully throwing a pot. This was a good class for beginners. The teacher provided feedback and assistance throughout the class. I was able to throw two pots during the class. Pottery NYC glazes the chosen pot and puts it through the kiln prior to pickup.

This workshop included theory on perfume-making and a review of 50 perfume oils derived from natural sources. We were given a perfume bottle to fill with a combination of perfume oil drops after selecting a combination of oils. BIOS also provides flower petals and gemstones to add to the perfume bottle for decoration.
