What you'll do
Learn how to paint with acrylics in this online workshop! In this class, you will learn how to paint a peacock using basic acrylic painting techniques.
This class is perfect for beginners, allowing you to explore your creativity while also learning a new hobby. Your instructor will guide you through the painting step-by-step, offering opportunities for choice in color, shape, and pattern. Skills covered in this class include: sketching with shapes, pattern, color blending, line variety and warm/cool colors. We will also learn how to choose the proper brush, clean your brush, apply paint, and create a variety of brush strokes.
The sequence of the class is as follows: intro and review of materials, presentation of art skills and techniques, step-by-step painting, and sharing/reflection. You may follow along with the instructor or creatively interpret the subject matter. The lesson will conclude with a colorful and abstract peacock bird painting.

Hi my name is Molly Cranch and I am an artist, author-illustrator and arts educator based in Chicago, Illinois.
I have taught students ranging from age 3 to adulthood in a wide variety of settings including public and private schools, online and in art museums and art centers. I have taught a wide range of art media, however I love to teach 2D materials such as drawing, painting, collage, and bookmaking.
My teaching philosophy is relaxed, supportive and student-centered. I teach basic skills and techniques while allowing room for creative flow.
