What you'll do

The prospect of eating a cupcake is irresistible no matter what, but why not make your treats a feast for the eyes as well as your stomach? Even if you've never tried to decorate baked goods, this engaging virtual class makes it easy!

The essentials you need to create six beautifully decorated cupcakes arrive in DIY kits. You will learn how to make colorful buttercream frosting using natural food dye and you'll get expert instruction on how to pipe like a professional, so your cupcakes have that "bought from the bakery" aesthetic.

This lively online class is perfectly suited for team building or virtual party ideas. It's also ideal when you are looking for out-of-the-ordinary gift experiences. Gather up a group of enthusiastic dessert lovers and get busy creating sweet treats that look as good as they taste.

By the end of class, you will have half a dozen cupcakes that look almost too good to eat, but they will probably disappear quickly if you share!

Important note

Please book your class three weeks in advance to prepare and ship your freshly baked cupcakes in time for class.
Cupcakes will ship one week before your class; we recommend freezing them until the event date.
Please have an accurate headcount when booking.

Knowledge required

This is a beginner-friendly class, but we'll be learning some tips even seasoned bakers will appreciate!

One packet of artificial dye-free sprinkles
Three piping bags and two piping tips

Two sticks of unsalted butter

Who Are We?
We’re Jade and Anna - trained chefs with 20 plus years experience in the food industry moms, wives, and friends. We met in the test kitchen creating delicious beautiful and easy to follow recipes for national publications, including Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Day, The New York Times and Country Living. As working mamas, with 4 children between us, we know that hosting celebrations can be a ton of work to your already busy life and we want to relieve some of the pressure- starting with the CAKE!

So we put our years of experience in New York's food media scene to create Poppikit: a one-stop shop for making easy, and beautiful, homemade cakes and soon party favors, toppers and everything else you need to celebrate. Poppikit is named after Poppy and Peridot (our two daughters) and reflects their fun and creative spirit.

The only component of our kits that contains dyes is our conventional fondant (we also plan to provide a "make-it-yourself" all-natural alternative, because a high-quality all-natural fondant doesn't currently exist in the market).

Whenever possible, we use packaging made from recycled sources. Most of our packaging is either recyclable or compostable.
