This is a beginner's pottery class that will teach you all the basics and introduce you to the world of ceramics. Your instructor will guide you through how to center clay, make basic shapes, and create a finished piece. This is an opportunity to get personalized guidance to start a new hobby on the right foot or refine your skills.
Pottery can be an incredibly relaxing and rewarding hobby. Whether you love feeling your mind and body fully engaged in a craft or appreciate the creative atmosphere of the class setting, this is a fun and peaceful way to spend an afternoon.
This class is taught in a covered outdoor pottery studio in San Diego, so you can enjoy the sounds of nature and sunshine as you learn to throw clay.

Art Wheel Studio provides enjoyable experiences on the pottery wheel or building by hand at the table. Options include pottery wheel experience, date night, small parties, group events, BYOB, private lessons and open studio. We are in an outdoor environment, steps to the beach, pier, and legendary surf and walking distance to restaurants, microbreweries, creameries, sweet shops, nature walks and biking trails.
Classes are taught by accomplished San Diego ceramic artist Jeffrey Kirkeeng. At Art Wheel, we believe that everyone is creative and has the ability to make beautiful things with their hands. Our mission is to provide a space for people to learn about clay art and connect with other creatives in a casual and fun environment. We are conveniently located in coastal San Diego County, 16 miles south of downtown San Diego.
Learn To Throw Pots On The Pottery Wheel Or Explore Making Sculpture, Tableware, Tiles, And More By Hand. Pottery wheel classes are suitable for adults and children from ages 14 & above. Independent projects based on students’ goals and interests are available.
