What you'll do
Pair your favorite beverage with a wheel throwing lesson for a creative and fun activity in Imperial Beach! In this pottery workshop in San Diego, you will learn wheel throwing in a beautiful outdoor pottery studio.
Your experienced instructor will take you through the basics of wheel throwing, while you sip. You'll learn techniques such as how to center clay, how to raise walls, and more! This is not only a class that will teach you beginner pottery skills, but you can also have fun and socialize with friends.
If you're looking for fun activities for a group of friends or colleagues, this class is perfect for beginners and provides a creative and exciting environment. Don't be afraid to smudge some clay on your wine glass, this workshop is focused on having fun and challenging yourself to learn something new! You'll take home a special handmade souvenir and maybe even some inspiration or motivation to start a new hobby.

Art Wheel Studio provides enjoyable experiences on the pottery wheel or building by hand at the table. Options include pottery wheel experience, date night, small parties, group events, BYOB, private lessons and open studio. We are in an outdoor environment, steps to the beach, pier, and legendary surf and walking distance to restaurants, microbreweries, creameries, sweet shops, nature walks and biking trails.
Classes are taught by accomplished San Diego ceramic artist Jeffrey Kirkeeng. At Art Wheel, we believe that everyone is creative and has the ability to make beautiful things with their hands. Our mission is to provide a space for people to learn about clay art and connect with other creatives in a casual and fun environment. We are conveniently located in coastal San Diego County, 16 miles south of downtown San Diego.
Learn To Throw Pots On The Pottery Wheel Or Explore Making Sculpture, Tableware, Tiles, And More By Hand. Pottery wheel classes are suitable for adults and children from ages 14 & above. Independent projects based on students’ goals and interests are available.
