In this workshop, you'll unravel the reasons why common soap companies use harmful ingredients. Not only will you learn how to make soap with natural ingredients, but you will also learn how to make soap sustainably! Liquid soap consumption is seven times higher than that of solid soap, and using liquid soap also results in a 30% increase in water usage compared to solid soap bars.Vegan soap making is a straightforward task once you've learned the ropes from a seasoned pro. You'll leave our session equipped with the knowledge to create your own soap, complete with recipes and valuable resources.Agenda:

• Introduction (20 minutes): Welcome and icebreaker. Brief overview of the history and importance of soap making. Introduction to the instructor and their expertise. Presentation of statistics on soap consumption. Understanding the water usage difference between liquid and solid soaps.
• Soap Making Basics (25 minutes): Overview of different soap-making processes. Explanation of the saponification process. Introduction to carrier oils: olive, coconut, and palm. Hands-on experience -- melting down an all-natural soap base.
• Personalization Session (30 minutes): Selecting scents and herbs for personalizing your soap. Guidance on incorporating chosen elements into the soap base. Tips for creative and unique combinations.
• Environmental Impact Discussion (10 minutes): Insight into the eco-friendly aspects of soap making. Discussion on reducing plastic packaging and waste. Q&A session on sustainable soap practices.

Please note:

• You are not allowed to be more than 30 mins late to this class. This class starts 15 mins after arrival.
• The soap you create will need approximately 24 hours to cure before it becomes solid and ready for use. You can take your handcrafted soap home with you on the same day.
