Gradient Blossom Candle Making Workshop
This was fun! The instructor was super knowledgeable and accommodating. I'm vegan and avoid using beeswax and the instructor was very willing to stick to soy wax to accommodate this.
I learned a lot and had a ton of fun making a great gift. My friend made one of these candles as a Mother's Day gift and his mom was touched to tears by it! Our instructor Arlene was so helpful, funny, inspiring, and had a great taste in music. The effort was somehow both easier and harder than expected (my arms are spaghetti), but the teacher was available to help if you were struggling. Terrarium Making at Home
I purchased a class as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. We live in MN and we took the class in February. I was concerned about the succulents being shipped and surviving but they made it just fine. We later learned they were packed with heat packs to protect the plant babies. The instructor was engaging and lots of fun. We giggled through our oaths and had a really good time assembling our terrariums.I purchased a class as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. Terrarium Workshop: Sip and Plant
Purchased as a gift for my partner, this terrarium-making class met all expectations! The setting was intimate, clean & organized, and the the supplies were excellent quality. On top of that, the instructors were so pleasant and helpful throughout the class. Working with your hands and building something to take care of is so rewarding. This is a no-nonsense class where you really learn by doing. There's a quick hello and then you're geared up and pounding on molten pieces of rebar like you're a Viking blacksmith forging a sword. After hammering, shaping, quenching, grinding, and weaving, four hours later you leave the workshop with a knifeThis is a GREAT time.

DIY Turkish Mosaic Lamp
Nurullah is a very patient, detail oriented teacher. I loved learning about the origins of Art String and Mosaic Lamps. Both classes are a lot of fun to do! He's also very friendly, and makes sure you experience a truly complete Turkish experience with treats, music and culture.
I was offered a very generous discount for my second class, which made me be fully immersed in the activity and stay present to enjoy it. Would definitely take another class soon!

This was my first ClassBento and it was a great time for me and my youth (15 yr old). Moonshot Studio is located in downtown Noe Valley so parking may be a little tricky but we just parked a little further away and walked in. Our instructor (and owner) was Teresa and she was so sweet, enthusiastic, and informative. It look about 1.5 hours for us to complete our candle-making activity, which is a bit longer than the class was supposed to take but Teresa didn't rush us at all. She started out with a few slides with information on perfume structure and scent categorization then quickly pivoted to passing around and smelling scent samples from their collection. We smelled a dizzying number of scents (I had to re-up on the mimosa 1/2 way through) as Michelle explained how each was derived/extracted; its characteristicsContext: workshop gifted to me by my partner because she knows I like to swing by cologne counters and check out offerings. She started out with a few slides with information on perfume structure and scent categorization then quickly pivoted to passing around and smelling scent samples from their collection. We smelled a dizzying number of scents (I had to re-up on the mimosa 1/2 way through) as Michelle explained how each was derived/extracted; its characteristics and behavior in relation to other scents; and common pairings/combinations. If we liked the scent we dipped our tester strip into the sample and kept it at our workstation.
The next step was to use our sample strips to come up with a combination we liked and create our own perfume. I appreciated her encouragement for creativity and intuition on our part during this process as much as she was willing to make suggestions when asked to do so by one of my fellow workshop mates.
My group was small (7 total), diverse, friendly and engaged; overall, a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere that Saturday morning. Our workshop leader, Michelle, provided tons of information but avoided lecturing, listened intently to and provided answers to questions throughout the workshop. I had a great time immersed in smelling and designing. It reminded me of wine tasting where you set aside time to compare and explore with one of your senses--but here you walk away with your own creation! If you're at all curious or interested in scents, perfumes, colognes, I highly recommend this workshop. + more
