Work with hot metal and learn blacksmithing basics as you create a bronze bracelet in this metal smithing workshop in the Bay Area! This metal class is great for beginners diving into the world of blacksmithing. You will begin with copper and then repeat the process in bronze. The soft metal is a gentle introduction to smithing, while the bronze presents a unique challenge.

Join us at Seaport Studios for an engaging session in bracelets! You'll learn essential techniques like hammer control, texturing, and bending—all in a relaxed and supportive environment.

After you get the hang of hammering and shaping the bracelets, we will finish them by wire brushing. The instructor will shine and polish the edge as an optional finishing touch. This class will make you comfortable in the metal smithing environment, so you can confidently tackle your project or a new hobby.

Sharing anvils means sharing the fun! You will be sharing an anvil, taking turns to forge your masterpiece. Two students are required for a class to run.

I am a woman entrepreneur on quest to create beautiful hammered artwork and to spread the love of blacksmithing to other people.

I began blacksmithing over fifteen years ago while earning a degree in fine art. When I had the opportunity to learn blacksmithing I latched onto it. I was so mesmerized by the color and the glow and the power of moving metal. I thought, this is what I'm going to do, for the semester... Many years later and I now have a shop in Richmond, California, with employees, some big pieces of equipment and big dreams.

And while my classes are all project based and meant to be approachable, I want to help others achieve their big dreams. Whether it's making tools, decorating your home with custom metal or creating cosplay costumes. I'm small enough that the students can help guide what I offer in the future.
