What you'll do
If you're looking to make stunning pottery in just one lesson, join this unique ceramics class in NYC where you will learn slip casting! Slip casting is pottery making with liquid clay called slip which is poured into an existing mold.
In this class, you will be given a cup mold and shown how to create a blue graduated gradient cup. You can create an ombré or even just be random with your design. After designing your tumbler, you will pour slip into the mold for casting, after emptying the mold, you will be done. Pieces can be picked up after one week. Your finished ceramic cup will hold approximately 13 fl oz.
You'll be impressed with the stunning results when you pick up your handmade cup. This workshop also makes for unique experience gift ideas, where your giftee can learn a new skill and take home a handmade souvenir!
Please note, this class deals with casting liquid clay only (slip); your work will dry and be fired for you by our staff and not be able to be handled the day of class.
